Athina’s Ride was born from one family’s journey and has grown into a powerful community movement. The ride was created to support Athina, whose life was forever changed by a diagnosis of desmoid tumours—a rare, aggressive, and unpredictable disease that often requires repeated treatment, long-term monitoring, and unwavering resilience. What began as a personal response to a devastating diagnosis has become a shared mission to fund research, raise awareness, and give hope to others facing the same uncertain path.

Over the past five years, Athina’s Ride has raised more than $390,000, with 100% of funds directed to research. That support is already making a tangible impact. In just the last four months, the Desmoid Tumor Research Foundation has donated $65,000 to two separate desmoid tumour research projects, and has committed an additional $120,000 over the next three years to another major research initiative. This year, Athina’s Ride is aiming to raise $50,000, continuing to turn kilometres ridden into meaningful progress. Every dollar raised helps move research forward—and brings us one step closer to better treatments, clearer answers, and brighter futures for those living with desmoid tumours.
